As the world’s only developer of rechargeable, silver-zinc micro batteries, ZPower was in a high-growth phase. They enlisted DD+B to transform the Camarillo facility into an innovative and flexible space for both product testing and manufacturing. In just four months, DD+B performed the large-scale demolition and delivered tenant improvements across the company’s 12,000-SF of space. The newly modernized facility has nearly doubled the company’s production capability, positioning ZPower for continued growth.
Key Project Details
Successfully completed the large-scale demolition, transforming the space into a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with a high-pile storage, shipping and receiving in just four months
Built out 12,000-SF quality control and testing laboratory space, complete with a deionized water system, fume hoods, manufacturing pneumatic system with air compressors and an employee breakroom
Self-performed subsurface imaging of existing slab on grade to identify reinforcing steel and lay out new anchors, preventing construction and engineering risks/conflicts
Restored the existing roof and installed a rooftop air conditioning system
Built and designed a new mechanical yard and dock leveler
